Biography

Mr. Spencer was admitted to practice in the State of Washington in 2005 and the United States Federal District Court in 2009. He earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 2005, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Evergreen State College in 1995. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, QLaw, and the Greater Seattle Business Association.

Mr. Spencer’s practice focuses on business formation and general representation, trust and estate administration and litigation, and estate planning for traditional and nontraditional families and small business owners.

Before joining Brothers & Henderson, P.S. in 2016, Mr. Spencer was a founding partner of the firm Spencer Anderson & Buhr, PLLC, principal at The Spencer Law Group PS, and principal at Spectra Law PS. Committed to nonprofit service, he most recently served as secretary of the board of directors of the nonprofit Three Dollar Bill Cinema and chaired the board of directors of Washington Association of Future Business Leaders of America. He formerly served on the board of directors of the QLaw Foundation and the Tacoma Rainbow Center, and served on the Washington State Bar Association Professionalism Committee.

Mr. Spencer also teaches Community Property as adjunct faculty at Seattle University School of Law, and taught property courses in the Paralegal Studies program at Edmonds Community College.

When not devoting time to his clients, students, and community organizations, you’ll find Mr. Spencer and his husband exploring their passion for backpacking, biking, and travel.
