Biography

Patrick J. Carter’s practice covers estate planning, probate, trust administration, guardianship, and taxation law, including tax controversy and tax planning. Patrick is an adept problem-solver and enjoys easing his clients’ real-world concerns and offering practical advice.

Patrick brings a multifaceted background to his practice, working as a management consultant in wireless telecommunications and a Child Welfare mental health counselor prior to law school. These diverse professional experiences broaden his perspective as an attorney and enrich his ability to serve his clients in an individualized and empathetic manner. Patrick studied taxation law at the University of Washington, earning the Clinical Legal Education Association award for his work in the Low-Income Federal Tax Clinic.

In Patrick’s free time, he enjoys baking gluten-free treats derived from old family recipes. Patrick also coaches youth sports for his son’s teams (soccer and basketball). He is currently learning to play pickleball and is working to get back on the golf course after an 8-year hiatus from the activity. Additionally, he and his family enjoy travelling, regularly finding themselves in Hawaii, where Patrick spent his formative years.
